Art Festival] Collaboration Lunch & Dinner [Ends Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, 2023].

To express our gratitude for your patronage, we will hold the Art Festival in CHOURAKUKAN.
The theme of the Art Festival 2023 is "Welcome to the Guest House.
We will offer a variety of events to give you a taste of the hospitality of Chorakukan, a guest house of the Meiji era.

Collaborative Lunch & Dinner

  • Dates: Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, 2023 (2 days)
       Lunch Registration 11:00 Meal 11:30-13:30
       Dinner Reception 17:30, Meal 18:00-20:00
  • Venue: LE CHENE (former dining room room), 1F, Chorakukan Main Wing
  • Includes: 6 full-course French lunches & 6 wine pairings
       Dinner - Full Course French Dinner - 6 Dishes & Wine Pairing - 6 Drinks
  • We will serve French cuisine in collaboration with Okura Toen, one of Japan's leading ceramics manufacturers, and FRENCH LE CHENE at Chorakukan for lunch and dinner, respectively.
    Chef Hashimoto's French course and wine pairing expressed with Okura Toen's "tableware".
    Please also enjoy a talk show by Okura Touen staff and Chorakukan sommelier about Okura Touen's vessels, history, and relationship with Chorakukan.

  • Special viewing of "Onsei-no-ma & Choraku-an (usually closed to the public)" on the 3rd floor of Chorakukan (11:00 - 18:00)
     Onari-no-Ma, a shoin-style Japanese-style room and Chorakuan, a tea ceremony room, located on the third (top) floor of the main building, will be open to the public for two days only.
  • Okura Toen x Chiso Special Exhibition "Surrounded by Nature" (11:00-18:00)
     In the Guest Room on the first floor of the main building, Okura Toen's pottery, including works that can be considered the pinnacle of Okura's pottery, created in collaboration with Chiso, a long-established Kyoto yuzen shop, will be on display and for sale.
  • Viewing of Chorakukan motif and fashion show by Kyoto Women's University students (10:30-10:45)
     Costume production and fashion show by twinkle, Kyoto Women's University Apparel Planning and Production Department on the 2nd floor of the main building, featuring each room of Chorakukan.
     Collaboration cakes by Kyoto Women's University students and Chorakukan patissiers will also be on sale.
