<Story.
The setting is postwar Kyoto in 1951.
Ichinichi (34-year-old Mugi Kadowaki), the daughter of the long-established ryotei restaurant Kuwanoki, spends her days working as a chef in the hotel kitchen, thinking of her chef husband who was killed in battle, leaving behind his "nagatan" (kitchen knife).
Ichinichi was determined to live independently in the world of Western cuisine, but on the other hand, his family's ryotei restaurant, Kuwanoki, was facing a crisis as customers continued to leave after the war.
In order to receive support for his ryotei restaurant, he is offered a marriage proposal with the Yamaguchi family, a hotel owner in Osaka, but his partner is unexpectedly a 19-year-old college student named Shu (Sakuma Ryuto).
Zhou, who has a harsh "blue pepper" tongue, gets into a fight with Ichihi, but Ichihi decides to marry him for Kuwanoki's sake.
