Le Chene Philosophy
To create a dish means to take into account the thoughts and feelings of the eater, and to create each dish with all one's heart and soul. Only by integrating the aroma of the season, the sense of touch, the taste and physical condition of the customer, and feelings of gratitude, we can produce satisfaction.
Chourakukan has spun the history of hospitality.
We will continue to express French cuisine unique to Kyoto with the sensibility nurtured in this traditional place.

FRENCH LE CHENE is the dining room where distinguished guests from all over the world gathered to enjoy their time in the elegant surroundings of the Chourakukan, where they were welcomed with feasts at the time. The English neo-classic style room with a French Baccarat chandelier and plaster decoration on the ceiling and walls recalls the romance of long ago. It is our greatest pleasure to welcome you in this space.
French cuisine that breathes the spirit of "Fueki ryuko(immutable epidemic)".
Fresh vegetables from Shiga and Kyoto Ohara, the birthplace of Chef Kazuki Hashimoto, The ingredients of Kyoto, such as Tanba beef, Nanamo duck, and Guji duck, are expressed using the French technique. We offer classical French cuisine with Kyoto-like nuances, combining ingredients skillfully and with traditional French cooking techniques at its core.
Tableware to add color to your food
The show plates that decorate the dishes at Chourakukan FRENCH LE CHENE are specially made by OKURA TOUEN, which is the official supplier to the Imperial Household Agency and the various Imperial Households. The plate is designed based on the design of plaster reliefs and wall decorations, and features an oak leaf in the center, the family crest of the industrialist Kichibei Murai who built Chourakukan, creating an atmosphere of elegance. The harmony of the seasonal dishes and ingredients with the appropriate tableware is another of the pleasures of the menu.
